THE 2 DAY/ 1-NIGHT GREAT BARRIER REEF TOUR FOR BOTH SNORKELERS AND CERTIFIED DIVERS

Departing Marlin Marina, Cairns, Queensland, by 7.30am you get to spend over 24 hours at the Great Barrier Reef! That's 2 full days and 1 night aboard Rum Runner and "Sleeping on the Reef". Returns Cairns next day approximately 3.00pm

Departing selected Monday's and Thursday's (weather dependent), we arrive at the outer reefs (Thetford , Briggs or Moore Reefs) for up to 3 different snorkeling and dive sites. We love these reefs the best due to their still amazing coral coverage and fish life. Visibility ranges from 10m to over 20m dependent on the weather and tides, with maximum depths from 1m to 24m.

FOR THE SNORKELER

Depth’s to the top of the reef range from less than a meter to 2 - 3m on the high tides. That’s perfect for snorkeling. This tour caters very well for swimmers and non-swimmers, those who have not dived and what to give it a go, and to all wanting to tick off the bucket list of having snorkeled and scuba-dive the Great Barrier Reef.

A snorkel and Introductory Dive briefing is given during the journey out and we are ready to snorkel or dive by the time we arrive at our first site. All you need to do is grab your gear and jump into the water to see the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef.

FOR THE CERTIFIED DIVER

This tour caters very well for those straight off their ‘Open Water’ Course, those who have not dived for a while, and also to divers with more experience, and to all wanting to tick off the bucket list of having scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef. Our schedule allows for 6 certified dives including a night dive.

A full dive briefing and refresher are given during the journey out and we are ready to dive by the time we arrive at our first site. Divers are all organised in buddy pairs and encouraged to explore the reef with their buddies alone, or those with less experience can do a refresher - checkout dive with our instructor, before heading off with their dive buddy.

Please note none of the dives are guided. If you show up onboard with your diver certification, you are expected to be able to know how to dive with a buddy.

2D/1N GBR Live-aboard tours - Book direct online with confidence

2D/1N tours are scheduled on most Mondays and Thursdays, selected Saturdays, and other selected weekdays where we are able to fit extra tours in. Fine weather forecast means no winds above 25kts. (Why would you want to go out there in strong winds for? Not even the Locals will; Some operators will; We Don't)

So, if we can't depart as scheduled, we ask to please accept some flexibility and a lot of understanding as you look to book on to this tour. Any bookings made directly with Rum Runner Cairns, which we are unable to honor or which you need to cancel, or are unable to reschedule, will receive 100% full refunds.

Rum Runner is a 20m Fiberglass Yacht with shaded deck and all the creature comforts such as amenities, seating and dive platform/showers/Floating Dock and private tender to help make your trip a memorable experience.

We take regular groups of up to 16 people for Cairns snorkeling expeditions where guests get to see some of the most beautiful parts of the Great Barrier Reef. Our services are value added with Cairns scuba diving expeditions to some very unique parts of the Great Barrier Reef marine park and we ensure all of our services are operated in the most professional way. If you have never been scuba diving before don't worry! We have trained and certified Cairns PADI course instructors who can help you get the skills necessary before you come out with us for a reef diving trip.
